Do "Real" Architects Dislike Technology Architecture?
posted by Anna Mar, June 27, 2016Can you imagine having a cool job where you plan and design stuff like this.
You even get a cool job title: architect.
In the old days, "real architects" must have enjoyed the near exclusive use of the term architect. But then something happened.
Suddenly there were enterprise architects, IT architects, solution architects, data architects, information architects, business architects — technology folks had carried off with the architect job title.
Go to any job site and search for "architect" — you'll be hard pressed to find the adverts for construction architects in the sea of job postings for technology architects.
I wonder how the construction architects feel about this? Do they see us as kindred spirits1? As artists like themselves? Or do they feel we're undeserving of the architect title?
