Gartner Predicts Impact Of Recession On 2012 IT Spending

posted by John Spacey, Simplicable, October 18, 2011

Global head of research at Gartner, Peter Sondergaard revealed Gartner’s forecast for 2012 enterprise IT spending at the Gartner Symposium/ITxpo.

Sondergaard says the second recession is about to hit.

Despite this, Gartner expects global enterprise IT spending to grow at a steady rate of 4% through to 2015. However, 2012 will only see 3.9% growth due to a slow down in Western Europe and Japan.

Gartner believes the economy will impact IT budgets in 2012.
