Why Hybrid Cloud is Inevitable

What if everything is an illusion and nothing exists? In that case, I definitely overpaid for my carpet.
~ Woody Allen
Hybrid cloud isn't something you can reach out and touch.

It isn't a strategy per se.

In fact, hybrid cloud isn't even a choice onto itself. It's the result of choosing both private and public cloud solutions and integrating them.

Hybrid architectures are usually born of separate public and private cloud initiatives that are integrated.

When you get right down to it — hybrid cloud is just a particular flavor of cloud integration.

Hybrid cloud is almost inevitable for large organizations. There are just too many compelling reasons for both public and private cloud.

Public Cloud

Public cloud harnesses the power of consumerization. There are just too many excellent services and cloud APIs available as public cloud for organizations to resist.

Public cloud is an ideal choice for services that don't add to your organization's competitive advantage. Unless you can build it better than anyone else, go public.

Private Cloud

A world class organization does something better than anyone else. If you have IT services that are critical to your competitive advantage, private cloud is often your best choice.

Private cloud investment is driven by business drivers such as protecting intellectual property, data privacy, service management, security, performance, compliance and risk.

Hybrid Cloud

Hybrid cloud happens when an organization ends up with multiple clouds and decides to integrate them. The decision to integrate clouds is usually a no-brainer.
