Creative ability is any talent that allows an individual to create unusual levels of value. This applies to any pursuit where non-obvious ideas are useful. For example, one advertising campaign may be extremely successful based on a single creative idea where another advertising campaign may be a failure due to uninspired or cliche ideas. It is incorrect to think of creative abilities as being confined to art and visual design. In fact, creativity is important to any field where there is a big difference in talent from one person to the next. The following are common examples of creative abilities.Acting | Advertising | Algorithms | Architecture | Carpentry | Coaching & Mentoring | Commercial Art | Crafts | Creative Direction | Creative Intuition | Creative Leadership | Creative Reuse | Creative Thinking | Decision Making | Design Thinking | Divergent Thinking | Drawing & Illustration | Engineering Design | Experiment Design | Fashion Design | Filmmaking | Game Design | Humor | Imagination | Improv | Influencing & Persuasion | Information Architecture | Interior Design | Invention | Landscaping & Gardening | Music Composition | Musical Performance | Negotiation | Painting | Performance Art | Problem Solving | Product Design | Public Speaking | Research | Sculpture | Set Design | Software Architecture | Software Design | Songwriting | Storytelling | Strategic Thinking | Systems Thinking | Teaching | Theory Formation | User Interface Design | Verbal Communication | Visual Communication | Visual Design | Wit | Writing |
NotesCreativity can also be a character trait such as originality or coolness.Try to avoid cliches such as "out of the box" and "innovation" when describing your creative abilities. It is better to use direct phrases such as creative thinking or creative problem solving.
