Metals are mostly hard materials that are valued for their properties such as luster and strength. There are around 92 metals in the periodic table of elements that make up around 25% of the Earth's crust. Making things from metals requires technological advancement. Ancient civilizations knew of only 7 metals: gold, silver, copper, iron, mercury, tin and lead. This didn't change much right up to the modern age with only a handful of discoveries before the renaissance such as antimony and arsenic. In the modern age, the use of metals has greatly increased with metals such as copper, lead, nickel, zinc, iron, steel, aluminum, tin, tungsten, manganese and titanium and their alloys being used in a broad arrange of products, vehicles, infrastructure and architecture. The following are common things made with metal.
