What is a City Bicycle?

A city bicycle is a bicycle designed for short urban trips wearing everyday clothing. These tend to be inexpensive, stable and durable but slow with a heavy design and few gears. City bicycles have practical features for everyday use such as a basket, stable kickstand, bell, light, inbuilt locking system and a variety of splash and gear guards to protect clothing. They are a common sight in many cities, particular areas that have a culture of commuting by bicycle.
