Analytic vs SyntheticAn analytic statement is true in itself. Synthetic statements require knowledge about the world to know that they are true. A statement such as "all bachelors are unmarried" is analytic as its true in itself. A statement such as "France has a rich and interest culture" is synthetic as it can't be proven to be true without additional information.
