What is the Curse Of Knowledge? John Spacey, updated on
The curse of knowledge is an inability for an expert in a particular topic to understand how laypersons view the topic. For example, a programmer who gives a presentation to executives may think that she is presenting a technical topic in lay terms when executives view the presentation as meaningless technobabble. The curse of knowledge can also prevent creativity as you may adopt unnecessary assumptions that blind you to new approaches.
