Light is pure energy in the form of electromagnetic radiation. This includes middle wavelengths of visible light, short wavelengths of ultraviolet light and long wavelengths of infrared light. Light is produced by astronomical objects such as The Sun, natural processes such as fire and equipment such as light bulbs. The following are common examples.
Arc Lamps | Argon Lamps / Argon Flash | Aurora | Bioluminescence | Blacklight (UV Electric Lighting) | Candles | Comets | Embers | Explosives / Explosions | Fire | Fireworks | Fluorescent Lights | Fuel Burning Lamps (e.g. Kerosene Lamp) | Galaxies / Star Clusters | Gas Lighting | Glow Sticks (i.e. chemical reactions) | Halogen Lamps | Incandescent Lights | Infrared Light | LED Lights | Lasers / Electronic Lasers / Chemical Lasers | Lightning | Meteors / Meteor Showers | Neon Lights | Nuclear Reactions | Phosphorescence (delayed re-emission of absorbed light) | Plasma Lamps | Pulsars | Quasars | Radioluminescent | Sprite Lightning (large scale high altitude lightning) | Stars | Static Electricity / Electrostatic Discharge | Supernova | The Sun | Torches | Ultraviolet Light | Visible Light | Volcanic Eruptions / Magma / Lava | Welding Arcs |
All electromagnetic radiation can be considered light including microwaves, radio waves, ultraviolet radiation, X-rays and gamma-rays.|
