68 Types of Medium Blue

 , May 29, 2019 updated on August 11, 2020
A medium blue is a blue color that has high contrast with both a white and black background. Generally speaking, these are the brightest blues that are close to a pure hue of blue light. It is also common for medium blues to be tinged with another color, particularly green. Medium blues are perceived as natural, calming and cool. Although they are very colorful they don't necessarily grab attention because blue is a pervasive color in nature such that it doesn't tend to stand out. For example, a medium red typically grabs attention more than a medium blue because red is a rare color in nature. The following are common types of medium blue.

Notes

As medium blues are close to a pure blue hue they are ideal for creating other blues by tinting with white, shading with black or tinging with other colors. For this reason, most well known blue pigments are a medium blue.
