Furniture are things that are designed to make spaces livable and productive for humans. These are usually movable but can also be affixed or built into an interior. Furniture is functional such that it serves some purpose in areas such as lifestyle, rest, leisure, entertainment, social interaction and work. It can also be designed to be visually appealing and emotionally durable whereby furniture may be designed or crafted with great skill and constructed with fine materials such as woods. A type of traditional Japanese furniture.A chaise lounge is a long couch with armrests on one side.Chesterfield is an old word for sofa. As a modern term, it refers to deep buttoned, quilted leather sofas.A chifforobe is a combination of a closet and a chest of drawers.A davenport desk is a small desk with an inclined top that lifts up to access storage space.A fainting couch is a small couch that is raised at the end of one side.A fauteuil is a style of armchair with an exposed wood frame.A hoosier cabinet is a kitchen workspace with shelves above. These may augment or substitute for kitchen counters and cabinets.A hutch is a unit with drawers below and shelves above. This can also include a workspace such that it overlaps with hoosier cabinets.A kotatsu is a traditional Japanese heated table for sitting on the floor with your legs under a heated area.Poufs are large pillow-like items that are often used as a foot stool or small chair.A vanity is furniture that holds a large mirror on top. These often resemble chests of drawers and often have a seating area in front of the mirror.
