Fern green is a light to medium green based on the plant of the same name. Ferns are a very old species of plant that have neither seeds nor flowers such that some species of fern have experienced little or no evolutionary change for more than 180 million years. Fern green has been used as a color since at least 1902. As there are over 10,000 known species of fern, the color fern green also has several variations as follows.
