Human enhancement is the use of technology to change the human body using techniques such as human-machine integration and human genetic engineering. It is surrounded in a great number of ethical questions. For example, the concern that such modifications may become a competitive race between nations and individuals that results in the extinction of humans as they exist today. In other words, human enhancement is considered an existential risk.
