The Difference

Testing is the detection of non-conformances to requirements and specifications. It is concerned with documenting defects.
Quality assurance is concerned with addressing the causes of poor quality including factors such as architecture, design, processes, inputs, systems and human error. Its scope includes operational outputs such as production and service delivery. Quality assurance is a management process that may feed into governance, compliance and risk management.
