What is Art Deco?

 , June 08, 2016
Art Deco is a style of architecture and art that is characterized by machine age imagery, geometric motifs and sharply defined outlines. The style first emerged in France before WWI and thrived in the 1920s and 1930s. Art Deco can be considered a type of futurism that was driven by excitement for the technological progress of the era such as the widespread introduction of the automobile, airplane and electricity.
