A probability distribution is a function that describes the possible values of a random variable and their associated probabilities. This is essentially a graph that predicts the results of a set of experiments over a large sample space. Probability distributions are a key approach to machine learning and artificial intelligence whereby probability models enable reasoning based on probabilistic inference.
