What is a Smart City? John Spacey, updated on
A smart city is a city that manages its services, infrastructure and facilities by integrating them with information technology. It is associated with pervasive computing that allows centralized control of city infrastructure. For example, control of a light post might allow lighting to be adapted for events, security incidents and to save energy during peak usage times. Smart city technology is also commonly used to collect data for decision making.
