Immersive technology is a class of tools designed to create immersive experiences that include digital elements that feel real to the user. The following are the basic types of immersive technology.
Virtual RealityFully digital environments that surround the user such that they feel it is real. Virtual reality may pull in things from the real world.Digital elements that are displayed in the real world. This includes the possibility of digital and real things interacting. For example, a theme park ride that includes virtual elements that can interact with visitors.
A game that takes place in the real world often using elements of virtual reality and/or mixed reality.A precise digital visualization of a real thing. This is often live such that it shows the current state of the real thing. For example, a hologram of a jet engine that is currently operating in a jet.
Technologies that allow you to feel that you are in a physical place when you aren't really there. For example, sending a robot to a party and experiencing the party as the robot.|
