Snow is a white color that is created by ice crystals of snow reflecting sunlight, that is white because it contains all colors. The color of snow varies with weather, lighting and the condition of the snow itself. Slightly wet snow can look a little blue because random particles, namely water droplets, are more likely to absorb long wavelengths of light such as red than short blue wavelengths. Pink snow, known as watermelon snow, indicates the presence of fresh-water algae that contain a red pigment. Icy snow can be so reflective that it begins to look a little silver. The following are common snow related colors.
