What is a Decision Balance Sheet?

A decision balance sheet represents the pros and cons of a decision in a two column table. The approach was famously used by Benjamin Franklin in the 1770s. He would assign rankings of importance to both pros and cons. He would then look for items of similar importance on opposite sides of the sheet and cancel them out to simplify his decisions.
