A social process is a series of social interactions. These are modeled as modes of social behaviors such as communication, cooperation, competition, conflict and compromise. There are also types of social processes such as friendship that may include all of these modes of interaction. The following are common examples of social processes.
Accommodation (compromise) | Activism | Altruism | Argument | Assimilation (fitting in) | Bonding | Coaching | Communication | Competition | Conflict | Conformity | Contravention (rule breaking) | Cooperation | Cronyism | Culture | Debate | Friendship | Groupthink | Influencing / Persuasion | Intimacy | Leadership | Mentoring | Negotiation | Networking | Non-verbal Communication | Norm Compliance (e.g. being polite) | Parenting / Grandparenting | Play | Politics | Protests | Reciprocity | Recognition | Relationship Building | Romance | Shared Experience | Sharing | Signaling / Countersignaling | Social Exclusion | Social Inclusion | Socializing | Teaching | Unconditional Love |
Culture is often viewed as a static thing but is in fact more of a process whereby groups develop shared meaning with a process of shared experience.|
