Telemetry is the automated collection and communication of data. This is associated with sensors and other devices that report their data back to servers automatically. Telemetry has a great number of applications. Historically, it was mostly used to manage infrastructure, collect scientific data and for medical tools such as heart rate monitors in hospitals. With the availability of cheap sensors and ubiquitous network connections, its applications have skyrocketed. |
