Sky blue is a series of colors inspired by daytime sky. The sky is blue due to a process known as Rayleigh scattering whereby the small particles in the Earth's atmosphere scatter short wavelengths of blue light more efficiently than longer wavelengths of visible light such as red. Sky blues include both dull blues and bright blues inspired by various colors of the daytime sky that is influenced by factors such as temperature and lighting conditions.
