What is Fandom?

Fandom is a subculture that evolves around a particular pop culture series or format. The term is applied to diehard fans of films, television series, characters, games, music and media formats such as manga fiction. Fandom occurs when pop culture fans develop shared experiences, vocabulary, traditions and pastimes that begin to resemble a subculture.
