Brand diffusion is the acceptance of a brand by customers. It is a process of communication that builds brand recognition, awareness, adoption and loyalty.

Example

A new fashion brand is launched at a fashion week. The brand is well received by the fashion media. The company opens shops in 8 fashion capitals and is positively reviewed by customers who share their experiences with friends. Within a year, 50% of potential customers have heard of the brand, 10% have some level of brand awareness, 5% have tried the product and 1% are brand loyal.
