400 Examples of Adverbs

 ,
An adverb is a word or phrase that modifies a verb. They can also modify adjectives, other adverbs and grammatical structures such as a sentence or clause. Adverbs are an odd bunch whereby words that don't fit into other categories are often classified as adverbs. They include many of the most common English words such as up, so, now, then and only. Adverbs can be used to indicate the flavor of an action. For example, a student who walked awkwardly versus one who walked confidently. They are also commonly used to indicate who, what, where, when and how. The following are common examples of adverbs.
