What is Locus Of Control?

Locus of control is the extent to which an individual believes they control the events that surround their life. Individuals with a strong locus of control take blame when things fail and believe that effort produces significant results over time. Individuals with an external locus of control place blame on factors such as systems, governments, institutions, luck and other individuals when things go wrong. As such, a strong locus of control is associated with motivation to improve and work towards goals.
