Land footprint is the total amount of land that is used to produce a product or service on a global basis including all secondary impacts. It is a consumption indicator that can be used to monitor the sustainability of products. It can also be measured at the government, city, organizational or the per capita level. In many cases, land footprint detects approaches that may appear to be sustainable until you calculate their land usage. |
