The Alignment Temptation
As technology often plays a supporting role it can be a challenge to find vigorous language to describe technology strategy. Alignment is a lazy term that is tempting to use as a substitute for "support."It is often more effective to avoid vague terms such as alignment in favor of specific things such as automation, decision support or event handling. Better yet, technology strategies can be phrased as business strategies such as "pricing optimization" or "automated credit risk mitigation." Technology specific projects such as architectural improvements can also be phrased in active sounding ways such as "structural change for cost reduction" or "competitive transformation of core technology."Overview: Business Alignment | ||
