A career interest is a desire to develop professional talents. These can relate to an industry, profession, skill, talent or knowledge area. Your personality may play a small role in your career interests. This is often oversimplified in career assessment exercises whereby people are asked to stereotype their personality into a category and then are given a list of appropriate career interests. This is dull and uninspired. If you are interested in space, fashion or agriculture, this may have little to do with the personality labels of popular psychology. The following are common examples of career interests.Academic Work | Accounting | Administration | Agriculture | Analysis | Architecture | Artistic Work | Attention to Detail | Business | Calculated Risk Taking | Coding | Communication | Construction | Craft | Creative Work | Culinary | Culture | Customer Service | Design | Design Thinking | Education | Emotional Intelligence | Engineering | Entrepreneurship | Environment | Events | Facilitation | Fashion | Finance | Food | Government | Hands-on Work | Independent Work | Influencing | Information Security | Information Technology | International Business | Knowledge Environment (working with ideas) | Languages | Law | Leadership | Literature | Management | Marketing | Mathematics | Mechanical Work | Media | Medicine | Music | Nature & Animals | Negotiation | Networking | Physical Work (working with hands) | Planning | Problem Solving | Project Management | Public Speaking | Real Estate | Repair | Research | Robotics | Sales | Science | Social Environment (working with people) | Social Work | Space | Stable Environment (following processes and procedures) | Stimulating Environment (handling change, problems and exceptions) | Storytelling | Strategy | Teaching | Teamwork | Technology | Travel | Video Games | Wellness & Athletics | Working Outdoors | |
