A product line consists of products in the same product category that are sold under the same brand. Product categories can be very broad such as sporting goods or very narrow such as golf tees. However, totally different products can't be members of the same product line. For example, if you sold golf tees and chocolate bars under the same brand this would be two different product lines.

Product variations that signal status such as a color or visible feature that is more expensive than standard models.

Affinity
Products based on what people like such as pajamas designed for cat lovers and pajamas designed for dog lovers.
Sourcing & Production
Products based on production methods or sourcing. For example, an organic cereal made in the United States versus a non-organic cereal that is imported from a developing country.
